Texas is a
state where the citizens appreciate the service to our country and show it at
the polls when they vote for state veteran benefits. Rick Perry is not
responsible for all of these listed below but he certainly protects the benefits
we now have for Texas Vets. Rick Perry has never choked on support for any
veteran bill that has come to his desk during his term in office. He fought
constantly for the elimination of the property tax for Veterans in Texas and
this last year--it passed!!! One of the reasons more than likely that he is this
Nation's longest standing Governor. People like him. Rick Perry has had the
complete and full support, backing and loyalty of WESUPPORTTHEVETS.COM the
nanosecond he announced he was a candidate for the President of the United
States.
If the "super
committee" ( one of the most stupid ideas Washington has come out with for
years) decides to cut funding to the V.A., Tricare for Life, Military Retired
pay, disability benefits and Social Security,
who,
from past performance would you consider the best person to protect these
benefits that veterans and elderly have already paid for? The present POUS or
his replacement in 2012? Make it happen veterans. There are 24 million veterans
in the USA that can make it happen.
Texas loves their Veterans!!
This is what you call
A Thankful State
!!!
House Bill 3613
was passed into law during the 81st TEXAS Legislative Session
this spring. Now, the procedures for obtaining this entitlement are
now final – Texas veterans that receive 100% disability compensation
from the United States Department of Veterans Affairs are now
eligible for 100% property tax exemption on their residential
homestead property. No other property under your ownership is
eligible for this exemption.
Texas
veterans meeting these criteria are now allowed to apply for and
receive the 100% exemption on local property tax levied by cities,
schools, and counties.
On 23 June, appraisal districts across Texas received
the long awaited guidance and procedures on the administration
process of this exemption for those eligible recipients. This is
what is required of the property owner in order to obtain the
exemption under this House bill:
The State Comptroller of Public Accounts has
approved a “Temporary Application Form” so that eligible
persons may apply for the 100% exemption as directed by the
legislature. A copy of this form may be obtained at the
Appraisal District Offices, or HERE ---if
the link does not work, asK your appraisal office for form
50-764.To
apply, veterans must complete the State Comptroller's
Form 50-764
and submit it to the
appraisal district office along with a copy of their
driver's license or ID card and a copy of the VA Disability
Award Letter from the Department of Veteran Affairs showing
the 100 percent service-connected disability.
The applicant will enclose with the
completed application form, a copy of their VA Disability
Award Letter from the Department of Veteran Affairs showing
the 100% service connected disability.
A Xerox copy of the applicant’s driver’s
license or state issued ID card which will be used to verify
residency, and the address in which the exemption will
apply, will be affixed to the application.
Eligible applicants should visit the appraisal
district office with their VA Award letter and drivers license/ID to
receive assistance in filing for this. Providing the exemption to
current residential homestead property will take less than 5 minutes
to complete and process. Due to the urgent need to get these
approved for applicants, the appraisal district will be processing
applications for walk in customers as they arrive until
certification of the Appraisal Roll, 15 July.
Many of these applicants have mortgages with a
property tax escrow. Approval of this 100% exemption could lower
their monthly mortgage payments. Naturally, applicants may also
apply by mail, and those will be processed as received as with any
other application.
UPDATE; AS of
2012 the Texas legislature voted into law a new amendment to the
property tax appraisal.
As of this date
the survivor of the disabled veteran ( his/her spouse) will also not
be required to pay the property tax on the inherited property. This
is only just because if the vet passes there is no more disability
income for the family. Only income a widow would have is SS and SBP.
Thank you again TEXAS. You honor those that served.

For all my fellow flight engineer veterans....here
is one that will make you think. This is a shot of the inside of DISCOVERY

is a gasser--Where is the prop feather button? the extinguisher for number

You can
use your mouse to move around the cockpit as well as just watch it rotate. Up
and down will show you the entire upper flight deck. Hint: Drag your cursor for
horizontal or vertical scanning and use your scroll wheel to zoom in or out.
