An Energy Policy for America

An energy policy is as important part of national security as Homeland Security. This is not a Republican or Democratic issue. This is an American issue. Both political parties share blame for many years of complete inaction.
Immediate leadership is needed to protect our national interests and our economy.
This will have an instant impact on the massive price spikes created by speculators. It will also start the process of energy independence. With respect to exploration off the coast of Florida we have two options. Sit back and watch Cuba and China drill just off our coast with complete disregard to any environmental impact or do it ourselves.
If state and local governments are unwilling to issue the necessary permits the federal government should allow these refineries to be built and operated on federal lands.
One of the not so hidden facts of higher energy costs is the direct impact on our economy. Our economy needs lower corporate taxation on business to really stimulate our economy. The recent redistribution of wealth stimulus program will have no lasting impact on protecting our economy.
The evidence is overwhelming that ethanol from corn is not have any positive impact on our energy needs. As a matter of fact it is have the opposite of the desired effect by raising fuel and food costs.
Some of us remember well the gas lines in the early 1970’s. Our Congress has done nothing to protect and preserve our energy independence.
Ginny Brown-Waite has failed to demonstrate any leadership on American Energy Independence. She squandered an excellent opportunity when we had the majority in both Houses and The White House.

Obama REALLY that clueless?
Standing with his hands FOLDED during the playing of the (OUR) National
anthem and the pledge. The email going around the net says he REFUSED to do
either!!! This guy wants to be CIC? Anyone out there explain this photo? If he
was asleep or dazed or slow on the uptake, we'll excuse but this doesn't look
right. The photo has not been altered as far as we can tell ( remember the one
of Jane -Hanoi Hanna Fonda sitting next to John Kerry?)

This article from The Associated Press explains the situation:
Complaints about religious content have led to a ban on flag-folding recitations by Veterans Administration employees and volunteers at all national cemeteries.
At thousands of military burials, VA volunteers have folded the American flag 13 times and recited the significance of each fold to survivors. The 11th fold glorifies "the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.” The 12th glorifies "God the Father, the Son and Holy Ghost."
Veterans are PISSED!! No other word signifies our resentment of politicians that would let this happen.!!! We Support The Vets was ready to establish a new website calling for the recall of the VA Memorial Department that would let this happen as well as any congressman that condoned it.
“No one is dishonored when the meaning of the folds are recited in remembrance of a fallen veteran. Everyone is dishonored when VA honor guards are banned from reciting it at veterans’ funerals,” said ADF Senior Counsel Joe Infranco. “It is highly unfortunate that the decades-long disinformation campaign by secularists has intimidated government agencies into banning even our most revered traditions for fear that one atheist may be offended by references to God.”
