Dedicated to the enactment of HR303--FULL
restoration of retired pay for disabled Veterans

Casualties in Iraq report

"Patriotism is the love for one's country all the time, and its government when it deserves it."

A letter to Dr. David Chu  From Wesupportthevets. Read this
one Doctor Chu
and tell us you can not fix the system because of
what it would cost to shelter a homeless Iraqi veteran.

With the 109^th Congress in session, several bills affecting members of
the military retiree community have been introduced.*

*The Retired Enlisted Association (TREA) reported that Rep. Michael
Bilirakis of Florida(wesupportthevets note; WATCH this Congressman close this year--he is the turkey that actually BLOCKED HIS OWN HR303 from the house floor last year--he is NOT a friend to Veterans and NOT to be trusted.) had introduced H.R. 303, Retired Pay Restoration
Act of 2005. This bill would expand concurrent receipt (CR) to those
with 40 percent VA disability or less; expand Combat Related Special
Compensation (CRSC) to those early retirees (TERA) with 15-19 years of
service who are eligible for CR, but not currently authorized CRSC; and
finally to eliminate the 10 year phase-in for those 90 percent and below.*

*Other bills of interest include: *

*H.R. 322 - Military Retiree Health Care Relief Act of 2005 by Rep.
Emerson of Missouri.  This bill would authorize a refundable tax credit
of Medicare Part B Premiums for military retirees, spouses, widows or
widowers.  This means you do not have to itemize to receive this benefit.*

*S 185 - Military Retiree Survivor Benefit Equity Act of 2005 by Sen.
Bill Nelson of Florida.  This bill would eliminate the offset of
Survivor Benefit Plan (SBP) and Dependency Indemnity Compensation (DIC)
and move up the date for the 30 year paid-up SBP to October 1, 2005.*

*HR 602 - Keep The Promise to America's Military Retirees Act by Rep.
Chris Van Hollen of Maryland.  This bill would authorize military
retirees not eligible for Medicare to enroll in the Federal Employee
Health Benefits Plan (FEHBP); would allow those with hardship cases
(with a physician's certificate) to receive prescriptions at non-network
pharmacies and then would be reimbursed the difference.*

*For example, if the non-network price is $25 and the network price would *
*have been $10 then a claim of $15 would be applied for through TRICARE; *
*and finally a waiver of Medicare Part B premiums for those who are
entitled to retired or retainer pay upon service in the uniformed
services that began before December 7, 1956. Note: This would include
surviving spouses.*

Since May 2003. Thank you veterans and patriotic Americans!!
