This group is organizing a program that will provide PDA's to disabled vets that will help them with their appointments. No--its not a scam--the vet pays nothing as I understand to participate. Here is a reply to an email that went out to veterans
expressing a very partisan GWB support. We considered Kidwell's
reply a great expression of attitude of the majority of disabled vets,
we want to publish it here as well. Billy makes the points in
the reply and all can be documented.

It would appear that Tom Dooley must have his head in the sand when it comes to Veterans Issues. He states that “We move at our own peril when we become
PARTISAN“.If it were not for Veterans UNITING on the internet, IN A PARTISAN
EFFORT AGAINST THE REPUBLICAN PARTY, AND PRESIDENT BUSH, we would
not have won partial relief on the Disabled Veterans Tax!!!!

It was President Bush and the Republican Party that made this a
PARTISAN FIGHT by President Bush promising to Veto any relief on the Disabled Veterans Tax. By his sending the Justice Department to fight the Colonel Day Lawsuit Group. By his closing VA hospitals and military clinics.

It was Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi and Democratic Freshman Congressman Marshall of Georgia that joined America’s Veterans and stood FIRMLY by our side fighting the injustice of the Disabled Veterans Tax. Indeed it was Democratic Congressman Marshall who rightfully gave the issue the proper name of being a Disabled Veterans Tax.

The Republicans consider it “Concurrent Receipt”, a second benefit that we do not deserve.

The REPUBLICANS stealing medical benefits from the Colonel Day Lawsuit Group, stealing Earned Military Retirement Checks with the Disabled Veterans Tax, closing VA Hospitals, closing Military Clinics, trying to cut combat pay for our troops WHILE THEY ARE IN COMBAT, cutting educational funds for our troops, AND ALL THEIR OTHER ANTI-VETERAN, ANTI-MILITARY RETIREE, AND ANTI-AMERICAN CONDUCT has FORCED Veterans to UNITE behind an “Out the Door in 2004” promise.

If Tom Dooley wants to BETRAY his fellow Military Retirees, betray our troops in danger, and betray his fellow Veterans all for politics that is his choice. That is the freedom we fought for. The right to choose.

But we are responsible for the choices and actions we take.

If he is so “Republican” that he wants to BETRAY his fellow Retirees, and Veterans, for mere politics then he should quit pretending to be part of the Veterans Movement seeking justice for Veterans, and admit what he is.

A politician AGAINST Veterans and America’s Troops, and retired military.

As President Bush himself said, before HE STARTED THE WAR AGAINST AMERICA’S VETERANS, “Either you are with us or against us”. There is no middle ground.

You either act like a man and stand up for Veterans, Military Retirees, and our troops, or you play politics and become a sleazy politician supporting those who have wronged us. There is no middle ground.

When we fought the Disabled Veterans Tax and the Republican Promise to Veto any relief, when the Democrats JOINED us with Congressman Marshall’s Discharge Petition on HR 303 we promised, yes we PROMISED, “Out the Door in 2004”.

Any Veteran worth his salt, any Veteran with morals, WILL KEEP THAT PROMISE, and let the politicians know that if they cheat us out of benefits EARNED, and PROMISED, that THERE IS A PRICE TO PAY !!!!

You must choose if you are going to be for Veterans, or be a politician ignoring the war against Veterans, Military Retirees, and our Active Military by the Republican Party.

Tom Dooley chooses to be a politician.

It is my decision to ALWAYS be a Veteran First. To have morals. To remember who cheats us. And to keep my promises, as a Veteran. I will work tirelessly to see that the VETERAN PROMISE of “Out the Door in 2004” becomes a reality.

And I hope it becomes a warning to all politicians in all parties that think about betraying Veterans in the future. We WILL remember you when we vote.

Thanks again Billy Ray Kidwell for expressing so
well the thoughts of veterans and active duty
personnel that know these issues to be real and
factual. When the Republican leadership in the house
joined together and blocked Marshall's DP at the request of Michael Bilirakis (R9th FLA) they relied on veterans forgetting when they go to the polls November 2.
On November 3, they will find that disabled vets of this country have a good memory and THEY VOTE.
