Darlene Druyun --the "Boeing Dragon Lady" is back in the news again this time
with Boeing Exec Michael Sears

Michael Sears has pleaded guilty to illegally offering a job ( actually it was more like a bribe) to
former top air force acquisition official while she was negotiating on the air to air refueling tankers.

Twenty three billion ( BILLION Folks, like the one year  national debt of 50 European countries) was in the contract for 100 large refueling tankers to be purchased from Boeing. ( And they talk about Haliburton and Iraq?)

We did an article on Ms. Druyun AKA "Dragon Lady" last month (Boeing deal shames America) but the story continues to grow larger than Pinocchio's nose. It is evident now that not only did Druyun make a deal to go to work for Boeing at a astronomical salary and perks, she obtained employment for her
daughter AND future son-in-law. ( lets keep it all in the family)

So now, the Air Force is reviewing other Boeing contracts that Druyun and Sears worked on in the last nine years. This could mean some cancellations of contracts and some jobs lost at Boeing in Southern California. Not only did Druyun play the government for one of the biggest sucker ploys while she was still working at the pentagon, she actually pitted Boeing against Lockheed for her services. That in itself is one of the reasons we think that this sentence that was given Druyun was a slap on the tootsie. She should have lost her government pension, health coverage and everything that she has coming as a result of her employment. This is a person ( we will not call her a Lady) that had her daughter write Sears at Boeing and tell him in email that her Mom had taken a job at Lockheed "but really wanted to work for Boeing" If that is not putting the job out to the highest bidder then what is? Here is a government acquisition official, responsible for contracts in the billions over her employment span with the Air Force Procurement  Agency placing the position on the bidding block for megabucks. The job at Boeing was for over a quarter million per year salary plus perks. This should all be forfeited and plus a major fine. Instead she received a $5,000 ( yep that's right, five thousand) and only nine months in jail. Sears in turn has not been sentenced but faces a $250,000 fine and five years in jail.

So why does the guy that was approached by Druyun get the big hit ? Why didn't they give Druyun a $250,000 fine and five years?. She is the one that was placing the Pentagon job out for bid like a contract for notebooks-right? We wrote a letter today to Mr. Paul J. McNulty the U.S. Attorney asking him that question. We'll try another phone call this Friday if we don't get an answer.
We'd like to get an answer on the government retirement benefits for Darlene. If she can come out of prison and start collecting her retirement and travel, healthcare benefits, she will be better off than Martha Stewart--Martha has to pay her own way--Darlene would have the U.S. Taxpayers paying her way. She'll laugh all the way to the Caribbean every summer and Aspen in winter.
