If you “googleize” the name Iron Thunderhorse you get several different readings on the  name.

The most prominent is one describing the atrocity being performed on a Viet Nam veteran who is a native American. Iron Thunderhorse  was born Fred Capallo son of an Italian father and an Indian mother.
How he got to where he is presently, at the Pulansky facility of the Texas State Prison-is both an interesting story and a harsh criticism of Texas corrections procedures and policies

There is also an online petition to release Iron Thunderhorse at http://www.thepetitionsite.com/takeaction/286295701?ltl=1120853264   This gives a lot of background information on this individual.

On Orbstandard.com Tom Big Warrior presents a background for review but neglects to describe the conditions that brought about Iron’s present jail sentence. He describes only the alleged mistreatment while incarcerated. (see infosheet # 34)
In May of 2005 which would be the period of the start of most of the confrontations between Ironhorse and the guards, there is a review of the book “Healing our Imprisoned Minds” by author  Patrick Middleton  posted on the web. It is a well written book review from a reader who signs the review “Iron thunderhorse.” (ref: http://www.buybooksontheweb.com/description.asp?ISBN=0-7414-2265-4 ) Is this the same person? If so, he is reading  and writing unless he has someone read to him and write for him.

There is also an archived article from the ACLU dated April 19,1995 where Iron Thunderhorse was named as plaintiff in an action of civil rights because of prison guards demanding he get his hair cut before attending the mess hall for meals.

If this is a valid story and Iron Thunderhorse is indeed, imprisoned illegally, then we will attempt to make known throughout the veterans activist network that action must be taken.

If it turns out to be other than true, well, that will be another story.

Time will tell. However,-- time--- is one thing that this individual does not have a lot of considering his reported medical condition.
